What Makes Crested Butte, Colorado Unique?
This past February, I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Crested Butte, CO for the first time. I know, I know, I’m that Colorado girl right now, but I always wondered what made the five hour drive worth it. And I finally found out: it’s everything.
I live and breathe the I70 corridor. I ski and visit everything, so traveling to Crested, Butte was definitely a change in my normal habits. The drive is ling, but it’s also gorgeous! I loved seeing parts of Colorado that I haven’t explored before. And the summer activities are incredible.
One of the biggest draws to Crested Butte is their mountain biking scene. They have so many backcountry tails that you can spend hours out at a time.
You can also enjoy some awesome water sports. I’ve added paddle boarding on the river to my list of things to do.
One of the elements of Crested Butte that I truly love is that the downtown still feels like a local’s downtown. I honestly have been a little bit sad about the press that Crested is getting because I don’t want it to lose that classic ski town feel.
